^ indeed there relationship in DB was way better , but i stilled liked them in HOG , i don't really go by the looks , its the character & stuff in the series .

So, anyone really liked Chris Lai's character and performance in here besides me? I love the scene when his mom was kicked out of the family/house and he just cried.  And I also love it when he exposed her at the end and asked why was it that his mom wasn't Dai Kai (Kate's similar scene in MR just didn't play it out well.). Such a disappointing character in MR, though.  |

Ah huh..his MR character (referring to Chris) was 100 times worse than his role in HOG. I found his quite funny in HOG when he was acting dumb when talking to his mum. The whole HOG family seems much more FUN and such...but i don't feel the FUN when i was MR for some reason. =\

His acting (and character) in MR was so dull. Heh, yeah he was very cute in HOG. I was really impressed with his emotional scenes. I thought he did well in them.
I agree about liking the HOG family better than the MR one. When I was watching HOG, I actually felt for their characters, and I felt a bit sad when Lee Sei Kei and Ha Yu's characters died (although I thought Dai Kai's death kind of dragged). When Lee Heung Kam died in MR, I didn't actually care. MR really should have worked on developing their characters so we could sympathize for them.

I prefered Chris Lai's ah Foon in HOG over ah Yuen as well. His character was pretty simple, but pitiable as the guy stuck in the middle. He tried to reason with his mother, but had no choice but to turn against her when her greed took over. Quite an understandable dilemma imo.
I actually agree about HOG > MR family. The characters, well, weren't so over-the-top and more understandable. I like Dai Kai over Hor Ma- she was more laid back, but in a more effective way. She gave some warnings to Susanna and after she blew it, she was out of the house.
